The Assam Assembly elections are around the corner! Flying Squads along with Assam Police have made great efforts to keep a check on the influx of illegal liquor and narcotics in the state to ensure free and fair elections.
Data released by the Assam Police department reveals that since the announcement of the elections on February 26 till March 12, the department has recovered huge caches of liquor and drugs.
A large list recently released by the Assam Police has reached Headline8.

According to the list, the seized heroin was 2.05 kg with a market value of Rs 143.21 lakh. 97.75 kg 96.49 kg cannabis, 1120 bottles of cough syrup worth Rs343.75 tablets, 149 capsules, and 99.75 grams of brown sugar were seized and its market value was Rs 6.99 lakh.
During the operation, police also seized crores of rupees worth of illegal liquor, including domestic and foreign liquor.
Among the liquor seized so far, 6,344 liters are foreign liquor.
6,154 liters of domestic liquor and 6,07,175 liters of illegal liquor valued at Rs. 55,431,180.
