After being denied a ticket from the Hojai constituency, senior congress leader Dr. Ardhendu Kumar Dey resigned from the party.
Citing “dishonesty of some of the insiders in Congress party” as the reason for leaving the party, Dr. Dey submitted his resignation letter to Assam Congress chief Ripun Bora.
“For the immoral and dishonesty of some of the insiders in Congress party it is not possible on my part to remain in the same party. As such I resign from the Congress party with immediate effect,” Dr. Ardhendu Kumar Dey stated in his resignation letter.
The ex-congress leader was serving as the president of the Hojai district Congress Committee and was also a former Irrigation and Soil Conservation Minister of the state.
In the second party-list released by the congress, Debabrata Saha was announced as its candidate from the Hojai constituency in place of Dey
