In a horrific incident, a 12-year-old minor was allegedly raped by a middle-aged man in Lanka, Assam. The police apprehended the accused identified as Kaliram Mudoi on Thursday. Mudoi is the father of three children.
According to reports, Mudoi raped the minor while she was home alone four days ago. Hearing the girl scream, the neighbours rushed to the spot and rescued her. The residents of the area thrashed the accused and handed him over to the police of Kaki Mudoi Village.
The police registered a case against Kaliram Mudoi and arrested him under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) act.
