Assam: Food delivery boy arrested with drugs in Namrup

A delivery boy working for an online food retailer was detained in Dibrugarh district of Assam carrying a sizable quantity of pharmaceuticals on Thursday, October 13.

Abhilekh Sharma, the alleged offender, was hled in Namrup town.

According to sources, Abhilekh was arrested with 13 grams of Marijuana recovered from his possession.

A case has been filed against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in the meantime.

To ascertain further any links, an inquiry is being conducted for the same.

In a separate incident, during an operation at a village in Kampur, Assam’s Nagaon district, a significant amount of ganja was confiscated.

Maqbul Hussain and Faizul Haque were the two people who were detained in relation to the seizure.

They had about one kilogramme of Marijuana in their possession, according to sources. Apart from the Marijuana seized, more incriminating objects have been recovered from the two detainees.
