News Desk: Soon after the Assam government announced relaxation in the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown in Kamrup (M) district, the Directorate of Horticulture & Food Processing issued a fixed price list of vegetables.
The state government on Saturday issued an order which allowed the house-to-house sale of vegetable and fruits on Monday and Wednesday (July 6 and July 8) between 8AM and 2PM.
The government has still not allowed roadside vending of vegetables, fruits, and fish.
In a meeting held at Assam State Agriculture Marketing Board the consumer price of vegetables was fixed. The meeting was held in the presence of District Administration Kamrup (M), Assam State Agricultural Marketing Board, and the Directorate of Horticulture & Food Processing.
The traders can sell the vegetables at the following prices in Guwahati:
- Ridge Gourd (Jika) – ₹ 35 per Kg
- Tender Ash Gourd (Kumura) – ₹ 30 per Kg
- Pointed Gourd (Potol) – ₹ 30 per Kg
- Bitter Gourd (Teeta-Kerela) – ₹ 40 per Kg
- Sponge Gourd (Bhul) – ₹ 30 per Kg
- Snake Gourd (Dhunduli) – ₹ 30 per Kg
- Spine gourd (Bhat Kerela) – ₹ 46 per Kg
- Bottle Gourd (Zati Lau) – ₹ 35 per Kg
- Long Bean (Lesera) – ₹ 40 per Kg
- Pumpkin (Ronga-Lau) – ₹ 20 per Kg
- Ladies Finger (Bhendi) – ₹ 30 per Kg
- Cabbage (Bandha Kobi) – ₹ 30 per Kg
- Chilli (Jolokia) – ₹ 60 per Kg
- Carrot (Gaazor) – ₹ 90 per Kg
- French Beans – ₹ 90 per Kg
- Cucumber (Tiyoh) – ₹ 30 per Kg
- Peas (Motor) – ₹ 85 per Kg
- Assam Lemon (Nemu Tenga) – ₹ 3 per piece
- Brinjal (Bengena) – ₹ 40 per kg
- Coriander leaves (Dhania) – ₹ 5 per muthi

The Directorate of Horticulture & Food Processing also stated that: “The monitoring Committee is authorized to monitor the consumer price on the basis of any situation arises.”
