Assam: HBS Inaugurates Eye Bank, Super-Speciality Hospital at GMCH

Health Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday inaugurated the newly constructed Super Speciality Hospital at Guwahati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati.

The newly inaugurated Hospital can be termed as a positive start in the year 2021. The Super Speciality Hospital has 184 beds with oxygen facility, 171 ICU beds, Six Modular Operation Theatres with High-Tech facilities, 14 Hemodialysis beds along with high-tech X-Ray, Ultrasound, and CT Scan facilities.


In order to control the air quality and manage bacteria, the new Hospital is also equipped with Ultra-Violet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) units imported from Canada.
The Hospital is built at an estimated cost of Rs. 150 crores and is centrally air-conditioned.

The BJP leader also inaugurated the first-ever Eye Bank in North-East region at the GMCH premises. Earlier, authorities of GMCH have already opened up a Help Desk specially for the Eye Bank and people can reach out to the Help Desk at 8822380763 and 8822377199.
