Assam Police on February 2 at about 07:30 PM in the evening on the basis of source information searched a Scorpio vehicle at Nasraibil village of Gossaingaon area of the Kokrajhar district. In the search the police recovered huge amounts of arms, ammunition and explosives which are labelled below:
1) AK 56 = 5 (five) Nos.
2) AK 56 magazine = 8 (eight) Nos.
3) HK 33E = 1(one) No.
4) HK 33E magazine = 1(one) No.
5) UBGL = 1(One) No.
6) UBGL Cell = 11(eleven) Nos.
7) Chinese Hand Grenade = 8 (eight) Nos. &
8) AK 56 ammunition = 300 (three hundred) numbers along with BP Pouch, 5 Mobile handsets, Blankets, Plastics, toothbrushes etc.
Six people have been apprehended in this regard. They have been identified as Snmanjay Basumatary, Rabinath Narzary, Pungka Basumatary, Mwktang Basumatary, Manipal Mushahary and Swmkwr Basumatary. While the other five belonged to the Kokrajhar district, Swmkwr Basumatary hailed from Sonitpur.
