The Central Government on Thursday declared the roads connecting the existing National Highway (NH)- 715 near Jorhat with Majuli in Assam as NH- 715K.
The declaration was done under the National Highways Act, 1956. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also welcomed the Centre’s declaration of the new National Highway. He stated that this decision by the Centre will accelerate the development process of Majuli and also cushion the road communication infrastructure of the state.
Taking to Twitter, the state BJP leader expressed his gratitude towards PM Narendra Modi and Union Road and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.
In his official Twitter handle, the CM stated, “A great news for Assam and Majuli.
We take another step towards realizing the long-time dream of the bridge connecting Majuli & Jorhat, with declaration of National Highway-715K. My heartfelt thanks to PM Shri @narendramodi ji and Shri @nitin_gadkari ji.”
