Following the ‘cash for job’ Assam SI Scam and the Rs. 501 crores Minority Scholarship Scam, the state has been rocked by one more scam, ‘Assam Medical Scam’.
This time the main accused is a reputed doctor from Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh. Ajanta Hazarika, a reputed doctor of AMCH has been accused of taking money from three people on the pretext of offering them jobs at the Railway Department. The doctor has been accused of embezzling a total of Rs. 22 lakhs from the three youths.
A complaint was registered by the Right to Information (RTI) employee Dilip Sen Gupta which states that the lady uses the name of politicians and ministers to pilfer money from unemployed youths on the pretence of offering them jobs.
The conversation between the lady doctor and the three youths has also gone viral, however, Ajanta has dismissed all the accusations against her.
