Assam: Newly Elected Members of TAC Takes Oath

The sworn-in ceremony of the newly elected members of Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) took place on Wednesday at Morigaon district in Assam.

The charge of the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Council was given to Jibon Chandra Konwar and Tulsi Bordoloi took charge as the Deputy Chief Executive Member. Apart from the Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare Pijush Hazarika, many other members of TAC and dignitaries were present at the oath-taking ceremony.

Earlier in December, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registered a landslide victory in the TAC election-winning 33 of 36 seats. BJP’s ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) won two seats, while the opposition Congress party got only one seat in the TAC election.
