From August 13 to 15, 80 lakh national flags will be hoisted in houses, offices, and commercial establishments across Assam, along with the rest of the country, according to officials.

This will be done as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Programme, which is being carried out by the Ministry of Culture as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to commemorate 75 years of independence. With the active participation of the public, 20 crore tricolours will be hoisted across the country as part of this initiative.

The goal in Assam is to reach 80 lakh rural and urban households, as well as government and private institutions, schools, and commercial establishments. The initiative’s purpose is to inculcate a sense of patriotism in the people and raise awareness about the national flag.

In Assam, the Cultural Affairs Department has begun planning for the program’s successful implementation in collaboration with the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, the Information and Public Relations Department, and other government departments.

As a result, the Panchayat and Rural Development Department has begun producing national flags of various sizes on a local scale through self-help groups.

The department will also set up stalls at the district and village levels so that the public can purchase national flags in their neighbourhood.
