Assam Police recovers illegal arms in BTR

In an effort to cleanse the state of unlawful weapons, the Assam Police on Wednesday morning led an operation and recovered illegal arms and ammunition from Chirang district.

The operation was carried out at Kumarsali village under Bijni Police station at Chirang district under Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). During the raid, the police team was successful in recovering an A.K series Rifle along with two magazines and 26 rounds of live ammunition of 7.62 mm.

Taking to Twitter, ADGP (Law & Order) GP Singh wrote, “The effort to clean up Assam of unlawful weapons continues. @chirangpolice On 06.01.2021 recovered from north of Kumarsali village under Bijni PS – One A.K.Series Rifle with Two no.s of Magazine and 26 rounds live ammunition of 7.62 mm @DGPAssamPolice @CMOfficeAssam”
