The Assam Police on January 1 has submitted their chargesheet to Guwahati Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) against the eight-person accused in the JEE Exam Scam.
The eight accused are Neel Nakshatra Das, his father Jyotirmoi Das, JEE exam coordinator Hirukamal Pathak, Global Edulite owner Bhargav Deka, Counselor of Global Edulite Kakoli Bujarbaruah, an employee of Tata Consultancy Service employee Hemendra Nath Sarma, Pranjal Kalita, and proxy candidate Pradip Kumar.
Earlier on October 23, a complaint was filed at Azara Police station by Mitradev Sarmah against the accused Neel Nakshatra Das. The FIR alleged that the candidate Neel Nakshatra Das used a proxy to appear on the test. Mitradev Sarmah also provided electronic evidence against the accused.
Later during the investigation, it was found out that Pradip Kumar was the proxy candidate who appeared in the JEE exam on behalf of Neel.
The chargesheet has been filed vide Azara PS Case No 624/2020 u/s120(B)/419/420/406 r/w 66 D IT Act. However, further investigation of the case is still in motion.
