Assam police have got a new addition to its arsenal which will help in the fight against cybercrime. Special cyber kits have been deployed at every police station in the state at a cost of Rs 3 crore. With the help of this kit, the police will be able to investigate cybercrimes at the police station itself.
In the first phase, the kits will be supplied to every police station in Guwahati.
The cyber kit training for Guwahati police will start today. Every policeman will be trained to use the cyber kit at the CID office.
In addition, a cyber forensic lab will start operating at the CID office from today.
Meanwhile, drug detection kits are also being arranged for the police. The police will be able to test the seized drugs on the spot itself with the help of the detection kit.
