In a bid to help the senior citizens during the pandemic, Assam Police has launched a helpline number for those living in the state and staying alone.
The helpline aims at facilitating movement for COVID vaccination during lockdown restrictions if the slot is booked. It also arranges a personal visit to check well-being, if the senior citizen is alone and in need.
Facilitation of essential supplies and medicines, not related to COVID-19 treatment and if not available locally, liaison with health authorities, response to distress calls are the other features provided by the helpline.
