Assam Police Seizes Heroin Worth Rs. 25 Crores; Huge Blow On Drug Mafias

On September 27, drug mafias in the state get another blow from the Assam Police. The Assam Police were successful in seizing about 5 kilos of “quality heroin” at the Assam-Nagaland border.

This information was given by the Director-General of Police (DGP), Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta on Twitter. A police unit of Karbi Anglong district near the Nagaland border was successful in seizing the drugs.
As per sources, the market value of the “quality heroin” is worth around Rs. 25 crores.

The Police have taken Ismail Ali into their custody. Ismail Ali is a resident of Jogighopa village in Bongaigaon district. However, further investigations are underway.

The Karbi Anglong Police last night seized a whopping 5KGs of quality Heroin at the Assam-Nagaland border.
Kudos to the team!”. This information was given by the Director-General of Police (DGP), Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta in a Twitter post on September 28.

“The market value of the 5.05KGs of Heroin is worth Rs. 25 crores!
One Ismail Ali, S/o Akabor Ali under Jogighopa PS is in custody.
This op. is part of the ongoing drive against drugs declared by DGP Assam on June 26, 2020.” Mahanta also wrote on his subsequent tweet.
