The Assam Police reacting on a tip-off were successful in seizing an LPG service truck loaded with cartons of illegal alcohol from Meghalaya.
The truck registered under the Assam government, AS-01-DC-9747 was en-route to Kanchanpur, Tripura via Meghalaya.
According to police officials, at around 8 pm they were tipped off about the illegal supply of alcohol, and a police checking was stationed at Churaibari, Karimganj near the Assam-Tripura border.
During the check, Assam Police were successful in seizing 497 cartons of illegal alcohol along with the truck.

As per information, the seized illicit alcohol cost about Rs. 6 lakhs.
