‘Veerangana’ squad of Assam Police will undergo a complete makeover. Now they are being trained to be more mean and lean fighting machines.
New Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been structured to reshape the Assam Police Veeranganas into women Commandoes from different Battalions.
They are stationed specially to fight crimes against women.
Director-General of Police (DGP), Assam, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta on Monday took stock of the Veeranganas and also reviewed their training and morale at Assam Police Commando Battalion, Mandakata.
Taking to his official Facebook page, the Assam Police DIG stated, “Took a review of their training and morale yesterday. They are doing great and shaping up well. It was the advice of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, we are in the process of reinventing this all-women Commando force.”
The senior Assam Police official also expressed his regards to the Additional Director General (ADG), L.R. Bishnoi and Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Ranjan Bhuyan, and the team of trainers for the commendable task.
