The Director-General of Police (DGP) of Assam is often considered as the guiding light for citizen-oriented policing in the state. Under his leadership, Assam Police has stood like a pillar in the fight against COVID in the state.
On the 29th foundation day of the National Commission of Women, the commission felicitated women COVID warriors for their contribution in the field of Sanitation, Health, and Police service from all states of India.
Apart from Health and Sanitation services, Assam Police has been at the forefront of ensuring the safety of citizens during the global pandemic. Assam Police women have played a remarkable role in its success.
The women COVID warriors of Assam Police were acknowledged and felicitated by the National Commission of Women in a function held in Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi on January 31. Nalbari SP, Amanjeet Kaur (IPS) represented Assam Police.
