The results of the Rajya Sabha elections had been officially announced on Thursday night. Both the Rajya Sabha seats were won by BJP alliance. BJP candidate Pavitra Margherita and UPPL (that is allied with BJP) candidate Rwngwra Narzary have gained victory.
Pavitra Margherita got 46 votes and Rwngwra Narzary got 44 votes. On the other hand Ripun Bora from the opposition party Cogress has been defeated in the battle. Ripun Bora managed to get only 36 votes.
It may be recalled that the suspended MLA of Congress Shashikant Das had casted his vote in favour of BJP.
BJP alliance candidate Pavitra Margherita thanked all the leaders and members of BJP and the alliance party along with the State President of BJP Bhavesh Kalita.
