On the eve of the ‘World Disability Day’ also known as ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities’, the Pratibandhi Suraksha Sangtha on Thursday organized a rally to create awareness among the general public.
The rally which started from Dighali Pukhuri was organized demanding the regulation of the pension scheme of widows and inclusion of specially-abled people in the Orunodoi scheme.
The Department of Panchayat and Rural Development (PNRD) under the visionary guidance of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has made a venture towards making the specially-abled people of the state self-reliant.
For this purpose, the PNRD has introduced the ‘Mukhya Mantri Divyangjan Atma Nirbhar Achani’ scheme.
The scheme comes under the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA along with the Social Welfare Department.
