In the aftermath of the Assam Police Sub-inspector recruitment scam, the Assam Police on Sunday effected a major reshuffle in the department. Moments after the reshuffle it has come to light that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam Police on Monday summoned Kumar Sanjit Krishna who has been transferred as the SP of Barpeta FRRO amid the impending arrest as being allegedly involved in the recent SI exam scam of Assam Police.
However, it is being reported that Krishna has been absconding since his name came to light.
Interestingly, suspected Kumar Sanjit Krishna is the brother of the Chief Secretary of Assam Kumar Sanjay Krishna.
Meanwhile, many prime suspects in the suspected cash-for-job scam — including DIG (retd) PK Dutta and Diban Deka — have already been arrested. The CID and Crime Branch of Guwahati City Police have altogether registered five cases in connection with the recruitment scam and have so far arrested 45 people.
