Assam: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Diban Deka, one of the prime accused in the Assam Police Sub-Inspector Question paper leak was terminated from a primary post of the party. He was terminated by BJP Assam President Ranjit Kumar Das.
He surrendered in Patacharkuchi Police Station on Wednesday. Deka was on the run after facing interrogation at the CID headquarters in Guwahati. Earlier, Assam Police had announced a cash reward of Rs. One Lakh on information about the whereabouts of Deka.
The Government of Assam has set in motion an inquiry into the Assam Police SI Recruitment Scam. The investigating agency has been asked to conduct the inquiry without any compromise.
This decision was taken by the CM of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal. The CM was interacting with the media at the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra on Wednesday.
Sonowal also stated that no compromise or mercy will be tolerated in the inquiry process. So far, the investigating agency is successful in making headway in the investigation. The state government has been showing zero tolerance in the SI Recruitment Scam.
