Guwahati High Court on Friday has requested the bail pleas of four accused in the Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment Scam case of Assam Police.

The four accused Debraj Das, Kushal Das, Sanjib Sarma, and Taranikanta Banikya were rejected bail. The Gauhati High Court also rejected anticipatory bail pleas of three other accused, Ankujit Baruah, Ankurjyoti Baruah, and Mituljyoti Sandilya.

Earlier the SI Examination held on September 20 created a huge upheaval all across the state due to a question paper leak. This further led to the unearthing of the massive SI Exam Scam.
Several top Assam Police officials were also involved in the SI Exam Scam including DIG PK Dutta and SP Kumar Sanjit Krishna.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been continuing its investigation over the SI Exam Scam.

The SI exam will be re-conducted and is re-scheduled to be held on November 22 to fill 589 Sub-Inspector (SI) posts. Admit cards for the exams have already been issued on the official website of State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), slprbassam.in
