The Assam Police SI ‘cash for job’ scam has created a huge turmoil in the state and has shaken the Home Department to its core. With most of the prime accused in the case picked by the police, the investigation is going on in full swing.
In the midst of the investigation, the name of SP Karimganj Kumar Sanjit Krishna came up and the CID summoned him. Krishna was then immediately transferred as the SP of Barpeta of FRRO on Sunday right after he was summoned by CID.
The investigation into Kumar Sanjit Krishna revealed some shocking insights into the paper leakage. According to a CID official, it was the SP who leaked the question paper. Two days before the SI exam on September 18, Krishna took out a question paper from his trunk and handed over to Rubul Hazarika, one of the partners of Akshay Telecommunication. Hazarika then forwarded the photo of the paper to the broker through WhatsApp.
The entire process was preplanned and the rest was carried out by PK Dutta, Diban Deka, Rubul Hazarika, Pranjal Baruah and Saroj Sarma, the official added.
It is worth noting that Kumar Sanjit Krishna is the brother of the Chief Secretary of Assam Kumar Sanjay Krishna. The chief secretary has promised strict action against his brother if proven guilty and also asked the media not to drag his name in it.
