Assam chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tabled the much-trending Assam Cattle Preservation Bill 2021 on the floor of the Assembly on Monday.
The much-talked Assam Cattle Preservation Bill 2021 was tabled on the first day of the budget session of the Assam Assembly on Monday for discussion.
Previously, the Assam Cabinet had permitted the bill for introduction in the Assembly. The Bill says to ban cattle transportation outside the state.
The bill has been brought to stop illegal cattle smuggling to Bangladesh. The Assam government’s step to bring this bill has raised concerns in other parts of North-East, where beef is consumed.
