A body of a truck driver was recovered in an oil tanker on Tuesday at Serchhip district in Mizoram. The 48 year’s old body is identified as Praveen Singha, a resident of Dholai constituency staged at a road blockade on the Assam-Mizoram NH-306.
Report says that Praveen Singha along with Nipen Singha, a handyman went to Serchhip district and Praveen Singha was killed on their way back. Sensation has been created when the handyman Nripen Singha himself has confessed of killing the truck driver. a case has been registered against the handyman who is now under judicial custody.
However the family members and the locals claim that Praveen Singha is killed by the unidentified miscreants and blame has been put on Nripen. Keeping the body alongside at the road the family members seek justice and demand to handover Nripen to Cachar.
“Both Praveen and Nripen had a good bond between them and by no stretch of the imagination, Nripen could kill Praveen. We want investigation to be done by Assam police and adequate compensation for the family of Praveen. We suspect a deeper conspiracy in blaming Nripen and demand that he must be handed over to Cachar police immediately”, said the protesters.
