Badruddin Ajmal Vows To Undo BJP Govt. Decision To Close Madrasas

Reacting to the BJP led Assam government to shut down all the government-run Madrasas in Assam, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) president stated that the Congress-AIUDF government would reopen all the Madrasas.

In a party meeting at Hatsingimari, Ajmal stated that if the Congress-AIUDF comes to power, they will reopen all the Madrasas shut down by the BJP government. Ajmal made this statement when he was speaking at a rally at Hatsingimari, South Salmara district of Assam. The politician is on a two-day political trip to the district

Targeting the Education Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the AIUDF supremo stated that the minister is scared of the Congress-AIUDF alliance and also challenged him from re-opening the Madrasas once AIUDF comes to power.

Earlier, the Education Minister stated that all the government-run Madrasas in Assam will get converted into a regular school by the end of November.
Assam has a total of 614 government-run Madrasas, including 17 Urdu medium, 57 for girls, three for boys, and 554 are co-educational.
