The first phase of voting for BTC election began in Baksa and Udalguri district.
As per report by State Election Commission, 34% of voters have cast their votes till 11.30 a.m.
More than 13.64 lakh voters will be deciding the fate of a total of 130 candidates of the 21 constituencies in Udalguri, Baksa districts in the first phase.
The first phase of voting started on Monday morning from 7.30 a.m. amid high security and COVID-19 protocols.
The temperature of the voters were checked and their hands were sanitized before they entered the voting premises. The prime contenders of the BTC elections are the ruling Bodoland’s People Front (BPF) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
