Cash amounting to over Rs. 4 lakh has been seized by the flying squad from two places in the Cachar district ahead of the Assam assembly elections.
Cash of Rs. 2,63,850 was recovered by the flying squad personnel during a search operation in Silchar on Wednesday while Rs. 1,36,960 was also seized by the surveillance team during raids in the Katigorah area
The Assam assembly elections to 126 assembly seats will be held between March 27 and April 6 in three phases. The counting of votes will be done on May 2.
