News Desk: On the basis of an intelligence input regarding a group of criminals having come to Dhubri district to commit ATM dacoity in Gauripur market under Gauripur PS, multiple ambushes were laid under the area of Gauripur PS in the I/N of 1-2/07/20. At around 01:45 AM a group of persons was intercepted approaching a ATM under Balajaan OP in a four wheeler and on a bike. While four wheeler was caught, two persons riding the bike jumped into a nearby pond. Immediately entire area was cordoned off and at the first light two persons were caught from the pond. On search of the vehicle and persons following items were found and duly seized:-
- 1 x 7.65 mm (factory made) pistol.
- 2 x 7.65 mm live ammunition
- 1 x LPG Cylinder
- 1 x Oxygen Cylinder
- 1x Four Wheeler ( Hyundai Eon AS 15 G 4410)
- 1 x Two Wheeler ( TVS Apache AS 14 F 5809)
- 1 x Iron rod
- Tools for opening/breaking lock.
Following persons have been arrested:-
1.Saidul Islam(27yrs)
S/O Sukur Ali Vill- Bhakuamari PS-Barpeta, Barpeta.
2.Rahul Ray(23yrs) S/O Lt. Dayanand Ray of Driver tola Of Katiahar, Bihar. (He is being interrogated for his exact home location. He is expert in cutting ATMs through various machines.)
3.Sajahan Ali(27yrs) S/O Jaharuddin Vill- No2 Palashguri PS-Gossaigaon Kokrajhar (BTAD) Assam. (He is the main planner and organiser.)
4.Muktar Hussain S/O Sayed Ali Vill-Padmabill PS – Gossaigaon Kokrajhar ( BTAD) Assam.
5.Aminul Haque(22yrs) S/O Ahmed Ali Vill-Madhya Bhakuamari PS-Barpeta
Necessary follow up action is being taken.
