Dhubri Medical College gets approval for MBBS course

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Monday that the newly built Dhubri Medical
College has received approval for 100 MBBS seats.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved the admission of 100 students to the state’s
newly built ninth medical college. “Glad to share that the MBBS course of new Dhubri Medical College (9 th medical college of Assam) under Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences with 100 seats has received the approval of Medical Assessment & Rating Board under the National Medical Commission,” Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Twitter.

According to a letter from the NCM, permission has been granted to begin the MBBS course with an
annual intake of 100 students beginning in the academic year 2022-23. The letter was addressed to the new college’s dean/principal.

It stated that the Medical Assessment & Rating Board (MARB) reviewed the assessor’s report and noted the UG expert group’s comments on infrastructure facilities, faculty availability, and other facilities. Furthermore, they reviewed clarifications on the deficiencies in virtual format before giving approval.
