The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the poll dates for assembly elections in Assam. A total of 126 seats will be up for grabs in three phases.
The First phase of the elections in Assam will be held on March 27 and will include 47 constituencies. Notification will be issued on March 2 . The last date of filing nomination is March 9 and last date of withrawal of nomination is March 12 . Scrutiny will be done by the Commission on March 10 .
The second phase will be held on April 1 and will feature 39 constituencies. Notification for this phase will be issued on March 5 . The last date of filing nomination is March 12 and withdrawal is March 17. Scrutiny of candidates will be done on March 13.
The third phase of the elections will be held on April 6. It will consist of 40 constituencies.The issue of notification will be done on March 12. The last date of filing nomination is March 19 and last date of withdrawal of candidature is March 22. . The Scrutiny will be done on March 20.
Election results will be declared on May 2.
