In another successful incident the Assam Police has busted another fake currency trade on Tuesday and arrested 2 people who were allegedly involved. The trade of the fake currency was worth of around 15 lakhs. A police team from Gorchuk Police Station busted a FICN (Fake Indian Currency Note) scam in which these two involve were arrested.
The two persons arrested by police were identified as Abdul Kadir and Aizul Rahman. Both are the residents of Bihpuria in Lakhimpur district.
The pack had only Rs 3,000 in original currency, while the rest were white papers. The police also recovered six mobile phones from the arrested persons.
Regarding this Guwahati Police tweeted, “A WGPD team from Gorchuk PS busted a FICN scam after it arrested Abdul Kadir & Aizul Rahman, both from Bihpuriya, who were trying to trade purported FICN worth ₹15 lakhs. The pack had only ₹3k original currency. The rest was white paper. 6 mobile phones were also recovered.”
