First Woman From Assam To Become IAF Wing Commander

Barnali Gogoi who hails from the Lakhimpur district of Assam becomes the first woman from the state to be commissioned as the Wing Commander of the Indian Air Force.

In 1985 matriculation exams, she bagged the sixteenth position and completed her Higher Secondary (Science stream) from Cotton College. She got her engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from Assam Engineering College.
Later she did her M. Tech from Birla Institute of Technology and Science.

Gogoi joined IAF as a pilot officer on May 27, 1996, and was later promoted to flying officer and flying lieutenant. Recently she got promoted as the Wing Commander of the IAF.
