Two people in the Nagaon district died due to Japanese Encephalitis. The two deceased have been identified
as Hamidul Islam and Sadanand Baruah. Hamidul hails from Dagaon in the Nagaon district, and Sadanand Barua is from Khutikia in Nagaon town.
As per reports by Nagaon Health Department, one Sadanand Baruah died while undergoing treatment in GMCH, where six people, including a child from Nagaon, were admitted on Tuesday.
The health department confirmed that all of them are suffering from Japanese Encephalitis.
The people suffering from Japanese Encephalitis includes Praveen Bora (Kampur), Khirkant Saikia (Bebejiya), Akmal (Shingimari), Shahida Khatun (Laokhowa) and Laxmikant Nath (Hariyamukh). Among them, Akmal of Singimari is a nine-year-old child.
While in Raha, several other people are too suffering from diarrhoea. There have been reports of three people losing their lives due to diarrhoea.
