Forest Man Padmashree Jadav Payeng has signed an agreement with Fundacion Azteca to collaborate on environmental works in Mexico.
The agreement has been signed during the Ciudad de las Ideas (CDI) at Puebla City with former Mexican Senator Ninfa Salinas Sada of Grupo Salinas, in the presence of CDI founder and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Social Change and the Free Flow of Knowledge Dr. Andrés Roemer and naturalist Rituraj Phukan.
Forest Man Jadav Payeng, who has planted and tended trees on a sandbar of the river Brahmaputra turning it into a forest reserve, was honored with Padma Shri in the year 2015, the fourth highest civilian award in India.
