A post listing group of institutions that will remain open and closed in Assam from April 20 to May 3 in view of the COVID-19 surge has gone viral on Facebook and Whatsapp. It can be seen in the post that the list has been released by the central government.
The post was uploaded on Facebook with the caption, “Released Rules by Central Govt….. 20th April to 3rd May-Guwahati-Assam.
A cropped screenshot of the post is being shared on WhatsApp and has created panic among the people.

We ran a Google Reverse Image Search of the post and found that the post is not a recent one. The original post was uploaded by a Facebook page, “U R my Love” on April 19 2020 during the initial lockdown. The post that has been doing rounds recently is an edited version of the original post. The misleading post has the mention of Guwahati-Assam in it but the original post did not have any such mentions.
