The Women’s India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) has launched its handloom council in Guwahati, Assam to make artisans stakeholders in the economic growth of the state.
The council has been launched with the vision of promoting the works of the indigenous weavers of the state.
The former commissioner of the state department of industries and commerce, Swapnanil Barua inaugurated the digital launch of the council.
During the launching ceremony the campaign, ‘Hands Behind the Looms’ was also launched by Alakananda Das, the social entrepreneur and president of the India-Bangladesh Business Council, Women’s India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI).
