Finance Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday launched the Cassion Foundation No. PY-2 of the Seventh bridge of Assam across the mighty river Brahmaputra.
The bridge will connect Machkhowa, Guwahati, and North Guwahati and will be completed by August 2023. The bridge is supposed to be 8.3 km long and the construction cost is estimated to be Rs. 2600 crores.
The bridge will be crucial for North-East as it will boost the economic growth of Assam and adjoining states and will also reduce the travel time from Guwahati to North Guwahati. The bridge will also connect the National Highway (NH) 31 junction in just 10 minutes compared to the present travel time of 45-60 minutes.
Taking to Twitter, the minister informed the public about the launch of the Cassion foundation.
