As the new chief minister takes charge how will his team of bureaucrats look like? Will the Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma‘s close bureaucrats get the top posts? How will it work for the new government administration?
Likely, we have seen whenever the government gets changed every previous Chief Ministers like Hiteswar Saikia, Prafulla Mahanta to Tarun Gogoi made their own bureaucracy teams who worked on behalf of the chief minister like their backbone.
If we go back to the term of Hiteswar Saikia, Akramul Islam who was very close to him served as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD), another close associate of Hiteswar Saikia, Bimal Bhuyan served as the media advisor and IPS Ashim Roy and many others are on the list.
Meanwhile, in Tarun Gogoi’s three terms Bipul Gogoi was his OSD, babus like M Angamathu (IAS), M G V K Bhanu (IAS) and many other close aides served in his team.
Looking to outgoing CM Sarbananda Sonowal’s team, Hrishkesh Goswami, Santanu Bharali, Paban Borthakur, Prakash Kashyap and former DGP Kuladhar Saikia had very good bonding together in the team.
Now, after the new government was formed, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has also come up with his new team comprising of his close associates. On the very first day, Samir Kumar Sinha was appointed as the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister. Similarly, sources have informed that the posts of personal Secretary, media advisor, legal advisor to Officer on Special Duty and a few others will be given to the close associates of Dr. Sarma.
GP Singh who might get entry to the new chief Minister team is designated as ADGP law and order of the state. He was also part of the Pulwama attack, 2019 investigation.
At a time when the new government has taken up the agenda to keep the region free from militants and promote women safety. So there is a high chance for GP Singh to make it to team Himanta.
Every Chief Minister in their own tenure makes a strong and trustworthy team to work as a backbone in their comfort zone. There are many names close to Sarma who might be included in his team to work for the next five years in the state.
There will be also a question who will be the babu’s in Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s team who will lead the administration very hard. How will his team look like!
