Heavy Downpour For The Next 5 Days In Assam And Its Sister States

News Desk: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati predicted that Assam will be receiving heavy rainfall for the next 5 days. Heavy downpour had been witnessed in the state for the last few days.

Due to the excessive rain, the mighty Brahmaputra river is swelling. The present water level is only 1 Meter below the danger level.

The Indian Meteorological Centre also predicted that in Assam and Meghalaya, rainfall is expected at most of the places with heavy to very heavy and extremely heavy downpour till June 30.

According to the news agency PTI, around 38,000 people in five districts of Assam have been affected.

According to reports, Dhemaji, Jorhat, Majuli, Sivasagar, and Dibrugarh are the worst-hit districts.

It is estimated that about 15,000 people are affected in Dhemaji alone.

The weather office also said that moderate rainfall and thundershowers are expected at most places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura.
