Himanta Biswa Sarma Inaugurates Cryogenic Oxygen Plants At GMCH

Health and Finance minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday inaugurated two Cryogenic Oxygen Plants at the GMCH Super Speciality Hospital in Guwahati city.

These plants will help meet the rising demand for oxygen at the hospital which is treating COVID-19 patients of Assam.

The two tanks commissioned today has a capacity of 20000 litres each.

Sarma sharing pictures of the inauguration stated; “Liquid oxygen tank is the most economical way of ensuring bulk supply of oxygen in hospitals.

Today, at GMCH Super Speciality Hospital, inaugurated Cryogenic Oxygen Plant. Two such tanks have been commissioned today, each with the capacity of 20,000 litres.”

Amid the pandemic, many hospitals of India have struggled to meet the rise in need for oxygen due to rise in number of critical patients. In the last few days, Assam have also seen rise in the number of critical COVID-19 patients.

The Education minister on Saturday also spoke about 4 key health schemes for the state: Ayushman Bharat schemes, Atal Amrit Abhiyaan, Snehasparsh and Arogya Nidhi.
