In Assam 14 Thousand people are coming back to their native places

15th June, Guwahati: About 14 Thousand people are coming back to their native places in Assam. At least 10 trains carrying passengers from Delhi, Maharastra, Karnataka and Kerala will be arriving today till mid-night. Two trains from Kerala carrying about 3000 people have already reached Guwahati.

Among the 10 trains, 7 are Shramik Special and 3 are regular trains. 5 trains are coming from Kerala, 2 trains from Karnataka, 1 train from Maharastra and 2 trains from Delhi.

According to a report, on every train there are around 1500 to 1600 passengers. Out of the 14 thousand passengers, about 8000 are from Kerala. Meanwhile, the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) are tirelessly working on ferrying the returnees to their native places. From June 15 onwards there will be a spike in influx of train coming from Kerala and Karnataka, 17 trains will be arriving from Kerala and 2 from Karnataka.

Last week, Assam Finance and Health Minister Mr. Himanta Biswa Sarma had already informed about the influx of passengers coming from other states.
