The Seventeenth (17th) General Session of All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) started on November 18. Today marks the second day of the session.
“This session is very important during this crisis. The problem of recruitment in the state is increasing, new generation of youth is emerging, but not established, many people have lost their jobs in Corona period. For which this session has borne the brunt. The session, held amid a conspiracy to undermine Hindu-Muslim unity, has been heated. The Assamese nation’s resolve to thwart that conspiracy by the enemy will begin with this Duliajan session”, General Secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi stated during the session.
He also mentioned that the rights of Indigenous people of Assam must remain intact. The nation will continue to live with limits. Illegal aliens should never be harassed, for which a blueprint should be prepared.
The Chief Adviser of AASU, Dr. Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharya also highlighted some important points during the session. He said that, Assam will always have Indigenous people, there is no place for illegal Bangladeshis and communalism in Assam.
“We have our own culture; we have our own style. We have to take the North Eastern trend. All the divisive forces have to be careful. In Assam, only Indigenous will have rights”, he added.
