News Desk: The Indian Army has apprehended an active cadre of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN). As per officials, the army nabbed the cadre near Ledo Town in the Tinsukia district of Assam.
The troops also recovered one Point 22 Pistol (US-made) along with four rounds of live ammunition and Rs 1830 cash from the possession of the individual.
“Indian Army apprehended an active cadre of NSCN(IM) near Ledo Town, Tinsukia, Assam and recovered one point 22 pistol (the USA made) along with four rounds of live ammunition and Rs 1,830 cash from the possession of the individual,” the army tweeted.
It is also suspected that the individual was actively involved in extortion and recruitment activities in Ledo and Margherita.
Meanwhile, on July 6, the army apprehended five NSCN cadres along with arms and ammunition in Nagaland’s Kohima.
