News Desk: On July 22, Chief Secretary of Assam issued an order allowing inter-district movement on July 30 and July 31. The inter-district movement has been allowed due to the upcoming Eid celebration.
The bus services allowed for inter-district movement will have to follow certain travel guidelines. This is done to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
As per guidelines, a bus can carry only 50 percent passengers. The passengers will have to strictly follow COVID-19 protocols during the journey. It is mandatory to wear masks and follow social distance.
Before the journey, all passengers will be screened. According to reports, a total of 51 buses will travel in the state. Out of these, 11 buses will travel from Guwahati to Upper Assam.
It needs to be mentioned that the Assam government has allowed inter-district movement of citizens on July 30-31. This decision is taken to allow people to visit their homes before Eid-Ul-Azha or Bakri Eid. The Eid-Ul-Azha which is also known as Bakri Eid will be observed on August 1.
