The staff and journalists of Pratidin Time on Friday morning staged a sit-in protest demanding justice for renowned journalist Parag Bhuyan.
The well-known journalist Bhuyan died on Wednesday night at Kakopathar in Tinsukia. The protestors demanded justice for Parag Bhuyan and also to take strict actions against the miscreants.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday directed a CID inquiry into the death of the journalist.
Taking to Twitter, the Chief Minister Office (CMO) Assam on Thursday stated, “Taking note of various allegations regarding the death of senior journalist Parag Bhuyan, CM Shri @sarbanandasonowal has directed a CID inquiry into the matter.”

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also expressed his grief over the death of Parag Bhuyan and condemned the Assam state BJP government.
Taking to Twitter, the Congress leader wrote;
भाजपा नेताओं के भ्रष्टाचार का पर्दाफ़ाश करने वाले असम के पत्रकार पराग भुइयां की संदिग्ध परिस्थिति में हत्या हो गयी। उनके परिवार को मेरी संवेदनाएँ।
