Guwahati Traffic Police on Sunday night suspended the licenses of 95 people for drinking and driving in the city.
These people were hauled at checked points across the city and fined Rs. 10,000 each along with their licences being suspended, the Guwahati Traffic Police informed.
In its latest drive against drunk driving Guwahati Police has been successful in booking 295 people in just a week.
This comes in the wake of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s order to the police department to ensure that no accident takes place during the New Year celebrations.
