Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday during his public address in Golaghat castigated both the Congress party and the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU).
During his address to the media, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader stated that the love of the Congress party is only limited to ‘Miyas’.
“Love of Congress is only limited to ‘Miyas’. Congress started the fight between Miyas and Assamese through Sherman Ali Ahmed’s ‘Miya Museum’ idea. The party has sold its self-esteem to Badruddin Ajmal. It is crystal clear that Ajmal wants to become CM of Assam for the sake of power and ‘Miyas’.
The Congress party during its term in Assam has handed over the historical Batadrava Than to Bangladeshis. Such a party should be ashamed of themselves and have no right to speak on self-respect.”
The minister also criticized the All Assam Students’ Union for its contrasting and opposite stand on politics stating that the student union has lost its apolitical character.
“AASU is no longer an apolitical organization, I would suggest the union to start contesting in elections for its own separate party.
Now it’s high time that the union should start analyzing themselves and must work on the co-ordination between the leaders.“
